The great thing about new traditions: they're fun, creative, and provide something unique for the current generation.

The terrible thing about new traditions: I didn't get to be a part of them!

In case you haven't heard, the new tradition when your little one has their first birthday is to have a photo shoot, called a "cake smash," where your babe gets to do exactly what it sounds like. Now, cake smashes weren't a thing when I had my first birthday. This is NOT okay with me. So, since it's my birthday, I'm remedying this situation!! I think you know where this is going... Point being, you're never too old for anything under the sun. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!

(And by the way, in case you were wondering what I'd like for my birthday... in lieu of the beautiful gifts you had wrapped for me, give me a call about that photography job you've been thinking about. I'd love to make you as happy as this cake smash made me!)
