A baby shower is, first and foremost, a celebration, and Athena’s was definitely that. She was surrounded by friends, some whom she has known since she was in grade school. This party was fully thought out with her own Pinterest concept board and as a result, there were so many beautiful things to shoot (even before getting to all the beautiful people).
Athena and the host had thought of everything. The friend who hosted the party hung paper lanterns for shade and made citrus chilled water and a watermelon concoction, served straight from the melon. Even with the heat, the mommy-to-be was perfectly happy and the women all were lovely. (Sadly, no one jumped in the pool!)
Now let's talk desserts: The cake was four layers of homemade goodness with candied butterflies. There was also key lime pie, paleo coconut cake and gluten-free brownies, everything was thought of. I did partake in these: SO GOOD!
It was really a pleasure shooting her baby shower, everyone was so happy and it was a great group. I opted to not play in the games (truthfully, I didn’t know a lot of the answers!) but I photographed people playing and laughing.
Athena had registered for many books, books, books for her daughter and books she got. She was very pleased with her daughter's now ever growing library as well as the necessary mommy items and of course all the cute clothes this little girl will now get to wear.
I look forward to a pregnancy shoot with Athena (and then meeting her daughter and photographing her)! Until next time...
Best,
Jamie
