And Eat It Too...

Since I've gotten to photograph some very cute little ones of late, I thought I would share the wealth here!

In this day and age, we celebrate a first birthday with the smashing of cake. These darlings are sometimes a bit confused at first, but mostly they quickly get the message and jump right in. With Olive below, you can see the progression from confused to smashing time, which I love! And in no time, she was mugging for the camera like a seasoned vet... and making sure mom was in on the fun.

Ellorie

Ellorie and I go way back. I photographed her when she was still in her mum's tummy (Her maternity shots! Her mom and dad were there, too. Click here to see the shoot. It's the very first one.) I also did her newborn shots (You can click here to see the shots). So basically Ellorie and I go back to the beginning of time (as far as she's concerned). :) Anyway... we can just say I was super happy to see her again and leave it at that. Below are some of the shots of my ol' pal Ellorie.

Laura Jackman

I meet a lot of people in my travels.

Every once in a while I meet someone on a shoot, and after staying in touch in one way or another, we end up working together. Laura was like that. Laura and I met on a shoot for a clothing brand called Lazy J Lifestyle (you can see the results of that shoot by clicking here). Lauren is the cousin of Molly, the owner of Lazy J, and she was there helping out (and bringing even more life to the shoot than we already had!) After the shoot, Laura, Molly and I had dinner together. While chatting, I found out that Laura might need some headshots in the future (not actor headshots; singer headshots, a special breed) Laura also confessed to me (being the brave woman that she is) that she was a bit anxious and awkward about getting them.

After that shoot, Laura and I became friends on Facebook and followed each other on Instagram. We stayed in touch about the shots she needed, speaking once in a while. Eventually, we were able to nail down a time to shoot together.

Now, Laura has a very, very rare disorder that was mentioned earlier, which causes her to be anxious about having photos taken (sarcasm, not rare at all!). I'm sure no one reading this has ever experienced this... nope, never... not a one. ;) Anyway... for all you people who have never experienced that... some examples of Laura's results are below. They came out beautifully and she is super happy with the results.

I am too.

Meet Brighton

I posted a picture a while back of this little one and promised to share some more. So here are some more eyes, a nose, ten fingers and ten toes for you. (With toes getting some special attention down below!)

She loves her sleep (of course), and already has strong opinions about the world.

I can already tell we have a real pistol on our hands with this one. :)

It's hard to not love photographing little ones. So, if you've got a bundle of joy on the way, please do contact me. I'd love to photograph your new addition. I've had quite the varied set of clients lately (love it!), and have worked with each to get them exactly what they need. Which, if I may say so, is a challenge sometimes, but a fun challenge. As you can probably imagine from looking at the three different people below, I've been using my photographic flexibility.

Lazy J Lifestyle

Working with a client on more than one project is one of my favorite things. There are many reasons for this, not the least of which being that we get to develop a relationship (and hopefully friendship) over time. I've worked with Molly of Lazy J Lifestyle on four shoots over the last year and a half. Molly does limited runs of apparel and each one has its own flavor, with each being super, super cute. (Click here to see one of our past shoots) We've shot in beautiful forests and black sand beaches in northern California, as well as at the beaches and surrounding areas in southern California, always with beautiful results.

And our most recent shoot was no exception. Thank you to our model Kennedy Cameron and our hair and makeup artist, Samantha Bates!

How's that for a beautiful way to end a day? Molly and I are already chatting about our next shoot. So you'll have to compete with her for time if you want to schedule something... ;) Don't worry! She's a sweetheart. I'm sure she'll share my time with you if you need some!
